The Graduiertenkolleg, supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, presents an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented framework for cooperative research in theoretical and experimental physics, biophysics, and medicine. The main research topics comprise electronic and non-equilibrium transport properties in mesoscopic quantum systems and nanostructures, molecular electronics, structure determination of proteins by NMR spectroscopy, and the use of nonlinear dynamics for complex biomedical data analysis. The PhD program includes related lectures, seminars and international workshops. Applicants should hold a masters or diploma degree in science or engineering. Additional qualification fellowships are available for applicants with a bachelor degree or who graduated from a German Fachhochschule.
