Graduiertenkolleg Nichtlinearität und Nichtgleichgewicht
in kondensierter Materie, GRK 638
The Graduiertenkolleg Nichtlinearität und Nichtgleichgewicht in
kondensierter Materie (Research School Nonlinearity and Nonequilibrium
in Condensed Matter) is a joint PhD programme of the physics, biology
and medical faculty at Regensburg University, founded by the German
Science Foundation (DFG). The programme provides an interdisciplinary
and internationally oriented research environment for university
graduates who do research towards a PhD (German doctoral degree) in
theoretical and experimental condensed matter physics, biophysics and
medical physics. The PhD students work on their theses in a research
group within the framework of the Research School. They participate in
an accompanying study programme organized by
the faculty members and, to some extent, the students themselves. A
common seminar programme with regular talks, seminar days and workshops
is complementing the scientific environment.
Effects of nonlinearity and nonequilibrium build the platform for
coordinated and common research of the different groups involved.
Methods for treating nonlinear and nonequilibrium phenomena are applied
to condensed matter, particularly nanostructure physics, NMR and
biomolecules, as well as for data analysis and modelling in
