Optical Spectroscopy of Semiconductor Quantum Structures

In our research group we are exploring the charge-carrier and the spin dynamics as well as low-energy electronic excitations in semiconductor nanostructures. The systems of interest are either two-dimensional electron or hole systems in GaAs-AlGaAs quantum wells, or two-dimensional crystals (transition-metal dichalcogenides), like MoS2, MoSe2, WS2, and WSe2, and their van-der-Waals heterostructures. As experimental techniques we are employing time- and spatially resolved Kerr rotation, Raman spectroscopy, and time-resolved photoluminescence at low temperatures and in high magnetic fields.
